I cannot believe I’m writing this and that my little girl is now 4 years old! She got very spoilt on her birthday. We’d got her a trampoline as her main present and then the Frozen dolls (elsa from Peyton and Anna from her uncle Peter). She got lots of other bits and pieces as well.
We then spent the day out at Cotswold Wildlife Park, which has become a tradition for us. I had to travel up there with my brother and his fiancée as Jai was taking our girls and also his sister and niece (my mum and dad also met us there). We had a nice time at the park (despite the initial downpour of rain as we arrived) and watched the penguin feeds, wondered around the park viewing animals and we also saw baby meerkats and baby lemurs, which were so cute. I think my girls had a good day but for me it was ruined by my family who were moody as hell all day. They didn’t seem to want to do anything, and they seemed to get a bit moody when we decided to go for food at around 12pm due to the children being hungry as they all usually eat around 1pm! After their behaviour I doubt I’ll invite them again!
Then we had her birthday party the next day, held at one of the local churches. We made the decorations and food, and my mum made the cakes for us. So say my family were going to come early and help us get set up, but they mostly just watched us get ready! It was a nice party, hard work trying to keep the kids happy and the party going smoothly and hard to mingle amongst the parents who stayed too. We had the bouncy castle from the church and also played pass the parcel and pin the nose of Olaf, as it was a Disney Frozen themed party. It was a fun party and everyone seemed to have fun. My friend Sophia was very helpful during the party – giving out name stickers and helping us cut the cake (although my mum and brother complain as she cut into wedges not squares to make it go further!)- so we all never really got any cake. Then after the party was over my family just stood there and watched me, Jai and Sophia clean the place. My brother actually said “you need a broom”, I got one and handed it to him and he said “I’m not doing it!”. It was very annoying. But Kayleigh had a fun time and had a load of presents from the party so she wasn’t complaining.
So last weekend, 3rd May, we had Peytons rearranged party. A month after her actual birthday because of them having chicken pox. It was a really fun day, our house was filled to the brim, at the max we had 35 people there (11 of those being children). Peyton started off her party with tears, but as the saying goes “it’s my party and i’ll cry if I want to!”
Peyton fell asleep almost straight away when she had cuddles from Great Aunty Louise.
Kayleigh had a brilliant time playing with all the children.
Then there was the food.. My mum made the cakes for us, I made the cupcakes and she helped me to ice them.
Then we did a buffet style food table for everyone to eat.
I did a lot of work on decorating for the party too. I did a balloon caterpillar around the doorframe.
Then I made a caterpillar with Peyton’s monthly stats on it.
Peyton enjoyed eating buffet style food.
Then we sang Happy Birthday to Peyton, blew out the candle and ate birthday cake.
Me and Jai also got cuddles with his niece who is 7 weeks younger than Peyton!
Then later on Jai made us some balloon creations.. A flower and a butterfly.
So this weekend should have been the date of my youngest daughter Peyton’s first birthday party. However due to our eldest daughter Kayleigh coming down with chickenpox on wednesday evening we had to postpone the party. I then attempted to rearrange the party for 26th April but most people couldn’t make it so then had to change it to 3rd May (a whole month after Peyton’s birthday- but i suppose it does give a chance for her to get and be done with chickenpox herself!). On the upside My husband Jai used the reorganisation of the party to try to reconnect with old friend and it seemed to work as well, we’ll see 🙂
However we were told that my parents would not be attending the new party due to it being bank holiday weekend and they were planning to go away, which made me mad as they have a caravan on a seasonal pitch at a campsite meaning they can come and go as they please from Easter though to October! They also haven’t seen Peyton for her birthday yet due to Kayleigh having chickenpox and they’re worried she may get it before her operation on friday! (She’s already had it and never got it when me and my brother were young!) – I give up with them!
We did however take our children to Sealife Birmingham on Friday to celebrate Peyton’s birthday the day before. They both loved it there and we were given a free return pass too!
I also have to share these pictures of our eldest Kayleigh getting scared when I “touched” a sleeping shark (it was sleeping on top of the walk through tunnel).
Then on Saturday we had a few people round on what would have been party day to spend some time with the birthday girl. The girla had a good time despite so few being around. Hopefully the rearranged party works out for us 🙂

With 1 week until Peyton’s 1st birthday (scary stuff) we’ve still yet to decide what we’re doing. Don’t get me wrong we’ve got a party set up for her with family and a few friends coming round ours, but every year we’ve gone to Cotswold Wildlife Park for Kayleigh’s birthday. We need to think of somewhere to go for Peyton’s birthday! Ideally we’d like to go somewhere good enough to go every (or at least most) years.. We’ve been thinking of maybe an Aquarium or something. So back to the drawing board I suppose!
